๕๙. โบสถ์น้ำ
โบสถ์น้ำ เป็นโบสถ์ที่มีน้ำล้อมรอบและถ่ายเทได้อันเป็นคติการสร้างโบสถ์แบบหนึ่งในพุทธศาสนา น้ำที่ล้อมรอบนี้เป็นการแสดงถึงเขตขัณฑสีมา ตามคติโบราณถือว่าแสดงถึงความมั่นคงแน่นอน สามารถใช้ประกอบพิธีได้ตลอดเวลาโดยมิต้องทำพิธีถอดพัทธสีมาเพื่อทำพิธีสงฆ์ ยกเว้นพิธีบวชเท่านั้นต้องทำพิธีผูกพันธสีมา เพราะถือว่าน้ำได้พัดพาไปแล้ว คณะสงฆ์ลัทธิลังกาวงศ์ที่แพร่หลายเข้ามาสู่ประเทศไทยเมื่อพุทธศตวรรษที่ ๑๘-๑๙ นั้น มักนิยมใช้สีมาน้ำและบวชที่โบสถ์บนแพ อันตั้งอยู่กลางแม่น้ำกัลยาณีในลังกา ในประเทศไทยปัจจุบันเหลือโบสถ์น้ำอยู่เพียงไม่กี่แห่ง เช่น ที่วัดประดู่ทรงธรรม จังหวัดอยุธยา
The water hall is an ordination hall surrounded by water. This is another traditional ordination hall that exists in Buddhism ideology. The water surrounding the water hall serves as a visible boundary, marking off the sacred area within which a Buddhist ordination ceremony takes place.
The tradition was also popularly practiced in Ceylon when the Singhalese monks, who came to Siam in the 18th and 19th century B.E., often held the ordination ceremony in the water hall which was situated in the middle of the river, named Kalayani. In Thailand, only a few water halls remain. The traditional building is rarely seen today.
59. 清水殿
清水殿是泰国传统盖庙的方式,将庙盖在水中央,表示水运走所有恶。
물의 정자는 물로 둘러싸여 있고 불교의 계율을 받는 수계실입니다. 불교의 이념이 존재하는 또 다른 전통 수계실입니다. 물의 정자를 둘러싸고 있는 물은 시각적으로 경계선의 역할을 하며 부처의 출가식을 하는 장소로서 신성한 곳입니다. 대게 모든 종교의식은 출가식 동안 일반적으로 행해지는 경계표지를 묶는 의식 없이 물의 정자에서 개최될 수 있습니다.
물의 정자에서 종교의식이 행해지던 전통은 수 세기 전부터 이어져 오고 있습니다. 란나 제국의 연대기인 시나칸마리파콘(Shinnakanmalipakhorn)에 따르면 실론에서 돌아오던 치앙마이에서 온 승려 집단이 바지선에서 수계를 받았다고 합니다. 출가식에서 바다는 경계선 역할을 합니다.
이 전통은 시얌(태국)으로 온 싱하리스 승려가 카야라니(Kayalani)라는 강의 중앙에 위치한 물의 정자에서 출가를 했던 기원후 13세기에서 14세기경 실론(스리랑카)에서 주로 행해졌습니다. 태국에는 물의 정자 몇 곳이 남아있습니다. 아유타야 지방의 왓 쁘라두 송 탐(Wat
Pradu Song Tham)에 특별한 물의 정자가 있는데 이곳은 돌과 물로 된 경계선이 각각 둘러져 있습니다.
